§ 18-61. Restricted swimming area.

  • (a)

    Purpose. The purpose of this section is to establish a swimming area and provide safe and enjoyable aquatic recreation consistent with public rights and interest and the capability of the water resource.

    (b)

    Applicability and enforcement. The provisions of this section shall apply to the waters of Big Birch Lake within the jurisdiction of the village. The provisions of this section shall be enforced by the officers of the police of the village.

    (c)

    State boating and water safety laws adopted. The statutory provisions describing and defining regulations with respect to water traffic, boats, boating and related water activities and safety found in Wis. Stats. § 30.68(7), Restricted Areas, are hereby adopted and by reference made a part of this section.

    (d)

    Area designated.

    (1)

    The area designated as a swimming area shall be as follows: T.37N ;ds; 10W section 25 beginning at a point 100 feet east-southeasterly of the public boat landing, thence at right angles to the shoreline 150 feet, thence 157 feet east-southeasterly parallel to the shoreline, thence at right angles 100 feet to the shoreline, thence 157 feet west-northwesterly to point of beginning.

    (2)

    The area shall be designated by buoys which meet the standards set in Wis. Admin. Code § NR 5.09.
